SOME 2-8-8-0 HISTORY:

The GN used the 2-8-8-0's as their N-1's which were built by Baldwin in 1912. They were Rebuilt by GN in 1932 as the N-2, and later rebuilt again in 1940 as the N-3. The N-3 features a larger boiler and a bigger tender than its predecessors. These served on the GN for 43 years and were in service until 1955.
