ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND SMOOTH RUNNING MODELS!
Rayonier Incorporated #10 Shay was often called "The Last of the Great Steam Loggers",
and for good reason...
They owned no less than 13 Shays at one time, plus numerous rod engines, including several 2-6-6-2 tank mallets, and at least one Willamette...
According to the information we found on shaylocomotives.com, it appears that she was built for an unknown Canadian company, shipped to Lima's West Coast dealer, Hofius Iron and Steel then sat undelivered due to the client's inability to come up with the $$ to own her.... On 9-22-1941 she became Ozette Timber Co. #10, at Lake Ozette, WA... In 1954 Ozette Timber was acquired by Rayonier Inc. and she became their second #10, at Sekiu, WA.... In October of 1959 she was delivered to the City of Forks, WA where she resides on display along U.S. 101, at Tillicum Park, in Forks, Washington. According to shaylocomotives.com a shelter was constructed over the locomotive to protect it from the weather and she was repainted in July, 2001.

Rayonier #10 was outshopped on April 28, 1930 as Class: 3-PC-13... A three truck Pacific Coast type Shay... She sat on 36 inch Standard Gauge Wheels... She was always an oil burner... Her bunker had a capacity of 1200 Gals. and she carried 3000 Gallons of water... Her empty weight as built was 162,000 pounds...
